 Q: Do you have a retail store in our area that sells your cold pack?

Q: The label says keep refrigerated, does that mean refrigerate after you open it?
A: No, cold pack must be refrigerated at all times, before and after opening.

Q: What is the difference between cold pack and snack spread?
A: Cold pack is made by blending cuts of grade A Wisconsin state brand natural cheddar with cream and other dairy ingredients. These components are processed until a smooth texture is achieved. Herbs, spices or nuts are added to create our awarding winning flavors. Cold pack cheese food signifies that the product is made without the aid of heat. It remains as similar as possible to natural cuts of cheese but with the advantages of being in a convenient spreadable form. It's a good source of protein, calcium, and phosphorus too. Cold pack must be kept refrigerated at all times, before and after opening.

Snack spread is made by blending cuts of grade A Wisconsin state brand natural cheddar and other choice ingredients. In processing, it's heated to destroy active microorganisms. This pasteurization process makes it less sensitive to temperature changes in shipping and storage. It's perfect for gift baskets and boxes in situations when constant refrigeration isn't possible. Snack spread contains more moisture but less fat and calories than cold pack. This gives it a softer consistency so it can be served as a spread, dip or warmed to create a sauce.

Q:  How do we start a fundraiser?
A:  Call or email us, we don’t sell direct, we will give you the phone number of a local distributor to help you do a fund raisier

A:  You will have to contact your distributor to find that out, each one has different percentages

Q:  Are Pine River's products kosher?
A:  No

Q:  Is Pine River's sausage gluten free?
A:  Yes

Q:  Do Pine Rivers cheese spreads contain gluten?
A:  For all flavors except for our Spicy Beer flavor: No ingredient contains gluten, but we cannot guarantee absence of gluten.  Our Spicy Beer Cold Pack is made with real beer which contains gluten.

Q:  What type of gelatin is used in the gummies?
A:  The gelatin source in all our gummy products is pork and/or beef source

Q:  What is the source of the rennet in Pine River's cheese spreads?
A:  Our cheese products are manufactured using microbial (non-animal sourced) enzymes

Q:  Can Pine River's Cold Pack be frozen?
A:  Yes, but only for up to 6 weeks

Q:  Can Pine River's Snack Spread be frozen?
A:  No, we don’t recommend it

Q: Can Pine River's sausage be frozen?
A: No, we don’t recommend it

Q:  How do you read the lot numbers? What is the expiration date:
A:  We use julian dates for our products.  
example code:    01 18 15      53353 0432 16

  • The first group of numbers represents the sell by date (mm dd yy)
  • The next line begins with the manufactured date, which is a 5 digit lot number that corresponds to the day of the week, the year and day of the year.
  • 1st digit = day of the week (1=Sunday, 2=Monday, etc...)  (above 5 = Thursday)
  • 2nd digit = last digit of the year (above 3=2013)
  • 3rd, 4th, and 5th digits = day of the year (above 353 = December 19th)
  • The next 4 digit number represents the cup number for the batch (above 432nd cup of batch)
  • The last 2 digit number represents the batch number for that specific day (above 16 = batch 16 of the day)
